BAC Local 8 New Brunswick

About Your Local

The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Crafworkers has been representing bricklayers and allied craftworkers in the province of New Brunswick since the establishment of Local 1NB in November 1889, which emcompassed Saint John, Charlotte and Kings Counties. On July 1, 2002, Locals 1NB, 2NB, 3NB, 4NB and 5NB were merged to form IUBAC Local 8NB. On September 1, 2019, Local 1PE was merged into the local.

Our territorial jurisdiction covers the provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, which at present time is divided into three chapters, Saint John, Moncton/Fredericton and Prince Edward Island. We represent several hundred apprentice and journeyman bricklayers, refractory workers, cement masons, tile setters, terrazzo workers, stone masons, block layers, mason helpers, welders and pre-cast panel installers.
